Ready, Set, Cleanse… Detox
Upon waking up Drink one glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon. Improves digestion, balanced pH levels boost mineral absorption, detoxes the body and revitalizes body and mind. Practice deep breathing.
Before Breakfast It is important to keep the blood warm and flowing, but the intense workout is not recommended. A short yoga sequence with cat and cow stretches or alternate arching and flexing of the spine will wake the body.
Tip: Marichyasana III (stimulates digestion and elimination), Viparita Karani (promotes blood circulation) and Adho Mukha Svanasana (tones the abdomen) are some postures that would promote body cleansing.
Breakfast One fresh fruit, apple, pear, banana, or some grapes. Or a bowl of oatmeal or whole grains will help to get your body on track. Jazz up your oatmeal bowl by adding milk in place of water on top of the porridge with sliced banana or fresh berries. Along with it have a cup of skimmed milk or soy or almond.
Snack Ditch sugary treats and go for some good fat like nuts, or a detoxing smoothie.
Lunch One bowl of gluten-free brown rice pasta and one bowl of steamed vegetables. Or a bowl of rainbow salad with hearts of cauliflower, red cabbage, avocado and broccoli.
Evening Luxuriate in warm Epsom salt water bath. Magnesium in the salt helps the muscles to relax and detoxify.
Dinner A dish of lean protein like skinless chicken, fish, beans and soy with a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetable salad.
Detox water can be taken unlimited during the day. What if you lapse? Don’t worry, just accept it and get into the wagon again!
